ARCHITECT: MARLOW ARCHITECTS

Branksome House, Marlow Architects

‘Designed for a spacious tree lined plot within a Conservation Area, this house plays with materiality and form by expressing the architectural elements with earthy tones and areas of glass allowing carefully considered and controlled views into and out of the house.’

– Laurie Marlow, Architect

Marlow’s work is of a high quality and often very precise in detailing. This can be seen in the smooth lines of the materials and the precise alignment of their joints, as well as the accurate relation between walls, floors, ceilings and windows.

Many of the materials used on site represent the best of modernist design. From Purbeck stone and zinc to porcelain tiles, glass and wood, each material is selected for its form, colour and texture.

Despite being highly contemporary, we wanted to capture an elegant, timeless, and welcoming environment.
